Pixelink Software & Drivers


With the exception of the PL-A630/640/650/660 series of cameras, all Pixelink cameras are compatible with the following Pixelink drivers and software:

  • PixeLINK Camera Driver, Version 4.1 and later.

  • PixeLINK API Version 4.1 and later.

  • PixeLINK Capture OEM, Version 1.0.1.20 and later.

  • PixeLINK uScope Standard

  • PixeLINK uScope Essentials

  • PixeLINK uScope Pro


PL-A630/640/650/660 series of cameras are compatible with the following Pixelink drivers and software:

  • PixeLINK Camera Driver, Version 3.

  • PixeLINK API Version 3.

  • PixeLINK Capture SE.

  • PixeLINK uScope Standard

  • PixeLINK uScope Essentials

  • PixeLINK uScope Pro


To determine the version of software and drivers installed on your host system, select "About" from the toolbar of Pixelink Capture, or "Help => About" from the Capture OEM toolbar.

3rd Party Software & Drivers


Pixelink cameras can be controlled by a variety of third-party applications, including:

  • IIDC 1.3 or later compliant applications (FireWire Cameras ONLY)

  • DirectShow/DirectX-based applications (note: DirectShow/DirectX access is limited - USB and FireWire Cameras Only)

  • Applications that support TWAIN

  • Custom applications created using the Pixelink Camera API (Version 4)

  • GigE Vision, GEV, GENICAM (GigE Cameras)

  • Genicam / GenTL compliant applications - For PL-D and PL-X cameras, download the Pixelink GenTL Producer here

  • USB3 Vision Applications (USB3 Cameras only)

  • MATLAB - PL-B, PL-D and PL-E cameras can be used with MATLAB, after installing the MATLAB Adaptor.

  • LabVIEW - PL-B cameras can be used with LabVIEW after installing the LabVIEW Wrapper. PL-D cameras can be used either as U3V devices, or by installing the LabVIEW wrapper.
