Please note that our Pixelink Capture or Pixelink SDK must be installed for Windows to detect the camera. If you have not yet installed our camera software, it can be downloaded from our website at https://www.navitar.com/products/pixelink-cameras/pixelink-capture
To remedy this situation, disconnect the camera, wait five seconds, then reconnect it. Windows should automatically detect the connection. To check the status:
Connect the camera.
Open the Windows Device Manager.
Click Start | Control Panel
Double click System
Click the Hardware tab | Device Manager
Locate the Imaging devices category, and click the plus sign to the left of the category name. If “PixeLINK USB3 Camera Release 4” is displayed, as shown below, the driver is installed correctly.
Troubleshooting
If the camera appears under “Imaging Devices” but with a different name, Windows has loaded a different driver for the camera instead of the Pixelink driver. Please follow the steps below to install the correct driver.
Right-click on the camera in the list and select Properties.
Select the Driver tab. Windows displays information about which driver is currently being used for the camera. It may take several seconds for this to be displayed.
Click “Update Driver” to open the Upgrade Device Driver Wizard. From this wizard, select “Browse my Computer for Driver Software”, as shown below.
Select Let me Pick From a List of Available Drivers on my computer.
Select "PixeLINK USB3 Camera Release 4" if your camera is a USB 3.0 camera, from the list box as shown below.
- If the driver is not found in the list above, you can search for the driver from the "Browse for drivers on your computer" window. The USB3.0 driver can be found in one of the following locations depending on the Pixelink Capture version installed.
For Pixelink Capture (x64) v11.0 and later:
C:\Program Files\PixeLINK\Install\USB3x64\DefaultDriver
For Pixelink Capture (x86) v11.0 and later or Pixelink Capture v10.7 and earlier:
C:\Program Files (x86)\PixeLINK\Install\USB3x64\DefaultDriver
For Pixelink Capture v10.4 and earlier:
C:\Program Files (x86)\PixeLINK\Install\USB3x64\R10
Click Next to allow Windows to update the driver for your camera. After the driver has been installed, you should see the camera in device manager.
If the “Imaging Devices” item is not present at all in the Device Manager:
Disconnect the camera from your computer.
Uninstall any Pixelink software. This can be done by opening Add or Remove Programs, searching for Pixelink, and uninstalling any camera software or SDK found in the list.
Reinstall your Pixelink software.
If the computer is still unable to detect the camera, please contact Support at [email protected].
