The Lookup table (LUT) control provides the user a simple way to manipulate the grey scale image data coming from the camera via a simple lookup table.
How to Manipulate the Controls
Tick the checkbox beside "Lookup Table" in order to activate this feature.
By default, the transfer function is set as a straight bypass function, where out = in. To manipulate the transfer function, click on the small points on the curve and drag it to the desired location. You can do repeat this operation as many set points as you wish to achieve the desired effect.
You could also input "New Value" to the table instead of changing the points in the curve.
If you would like the LUT to use a linear function, the Digital Gain Tool can be used. The LUT Line Slope adjust the slope the the LUT line. The greater the slope, the greater the image contrast. A negative slope with invert the image. The LUT Line Height adjusts the height of the LUT line. The greater the height, the greater the brightness.
Click "Update" to load the lookup table parameters into the camera and to view the resulting image in the preview window.
The table to the left of the transfer function shows the resulting input/output relationship where the data entering the LUT is on the left, and the data leaving the LUT is on the right.
To reset this curve at any time by clicking on the "Reset" button. This will return the LUT curve to its original position which is a straight line.
The temperature settings allows the user to monitor the temperature of the camera (in degrees Celcius). This is a read only function.
Please note, the temperature may be displayed with a yellow or red background as the sensor or body temperature increases. For more information, please review the article on Thermal Considerations, or Thermal Considerations for PL-D Cameras.
